Midwestern Region Convenes in Hawaii for Week of Learning, Growth and Connection
From March 10–13, members from across the Midwestern Region of NECA (Districts 4 and 7) came together in Hawaii for the 2026 Midwestern Regional Conference – four days focused on strengthening connections, sharing ideas, industry best practices and advancing the electrical contracting industry.
The conference brought together chapter leaders, contractors and industry partners for a dynamic mix of education, collaboration and networking. Attendees engaged in meaningful conversations with peers from across the region, exchanging insights on shared or unique challenges as well as innovative strategies that are helping move their businesses and chapters forward.
The conference got off to a strong start with an opening luau reception on the first evening. General sessions in the following days highlighted NECA updates both nationally and regionally as well as the importance of advocacy and engagement, including updates on NECAPAC and government affairs. Presentation materials from the council sessions can be found on the Dropbox.
Educational programming continued with valuable insights from NECA and industry leaders. Representatives from the Electrical Training Alliance shared updates on workforce development tools and training resources, while ELECTRI International explored how data and artificial intelligence are shaping the future of electrical contracting. Sessions on NECA education outreach, labor relations and mental health awareness reinforced the importance of supporting both the business and the people behind it.
Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions with NECA Premier Partners, covering topics such as emerging technologies, operational excellence, company culture, risk management and market outlooks – providing actionable takeaways for businesses of all sizes.
Beyond the classroom, the conference offered plenty of opportunities to build relationships in a more relaxed setting. Members enjoyed a range of activities, including catamaran cruises, manta ray night snorkeling, golf outings and memorable Hawaiian cuisine, helping foster lasting connections that extend beyond the conference.
The Midwestern Regional Conference once again demonstrated the strength of NECA’s network and the value of bringing members together to learn from one another and grow collectively.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this year’s conference such a rewarding, valuable and successful experience.
